Hi, I’m Ms. Candace! I’ve been part of the New Covenant family for three years, and I have the joy of teaching our Pre-K class. I’m originally from Chicago, but my husband, our three daughters, and I have happily called Scottsdale home for several years now. Being a mom of three has shaped the way I teach as much as any classroom has — I understand what parents are hoping for when they walk their little one through our doors, because I’ve felt it myself.

I hold a degree in elementary education and have spent more than a decade in the classroom. I began my career teaching first grade in Chicago for five years, then taught kindergarten in northern Virginia before making my way west. Each stop taught me something new about how young children learn, but nothing compares to these early preschool years, when curiosity is at its brightest and every day brings a new discovery.

What I love most about our Pre-K class is watching children grow in confidence — sounding out a first word, making a new friend, or proudly finishing a project they didn’t think they could. It’s a privilege to help lay that foundation, and to do it in a place where faith, kindness, and learning grow together. I can’t wait to meet your family!
